ToGo was built to make trip planning effortless for everyone — families, couples, solo travelers, and groups. With excellent halal-friendly options built in for travelers who need them.
The story began during a trip to China. There were two adults — me and my friend. One night, at around 9 PM, we suddenly felt very hungry. However, none of the nearby restaurants had suitable halal options, and many of them were already closed.
We then searched on the map and found a restaurant that seemed suitable. The problem was that it was quite far away. We spent about 45 minutes traveling there. But when we finally arrived at the location recommended by the map, we discovered that the restaurant had already been permanently closed. The online information was completely outdated and inaccurate.
That night, back at the hotel, the idea for ToGo was born. A simple one: a platform that genuinely helps every traveler find what they need — whether that's the best ramen, a vegetarian restaurant, or a halal-certified meal.
Not an afterthought. A platform built from day one around real traveler needs — dietary preferences, family budgets, multi-generational trips, and the reality of navigating a foreign city with kids.
Finding the right restaurant, booking connecting rooms for a big family, or planning a trip that works for grandparents AND teenagers — these should take seconds, not days.
Solo backpackers, honeymooners, large family groups, travelers with dietary preferences — our AI planner works for everyone. Halal, vegetarian, kosher, or no preference at all.
We earn commissions when you book through our partner links — so our planning tools, guides, and AI planner are completely free to use. No hidden fees, no subscriptions.
We don't pretend a restaurant is halal if we can't verify it. We'd rather show you fewer options you can trust than hundreds you can't.
Our best tips come from real Muslim travelers. We credit community contributions and update listings based on reader feedback.
We're not a Western travel company with a halal filter bolted on. We're from KL. We understand Ringgit budgets, school holiday windows, and what "family trip" really means here.
We update halal certifications quarterly. If a restaurant closes or a mosque moves, we want to know. Our guides are living documents, not static pages.
I'm a Muslim traveler who got tired of spending more time researching halal options than actually enjoying trips. After that frustrating night in China — walking 45 minutes only to find a permanently closed restaurant — I knew there had to be a better way for travelers like us.
ToGo is my way of sharing what I've learned, so the next Muslim family doesn't have to figure it out the hard way.
I reply to every WhatsApp message personally. If you have a tip, a correction, or a story — write to me.
ToGo is reader-supported. When you click on hotel, flight, or activity links on this website and make a booking, we may earn a small commission — at absolutely no extra cost to you. In fact, in many cases our affiliate partnership means you get the same price or better than booking directly.
We only recommend services we've researched thoroughly or used personally. Our editorial content is never influenced by affiliate partnerships. If we think a hotel is overpriced or a service is unreliable, we say so — even if we have an affiliate relationship with them.
Affiliate commissions are what allow us to keep our AI trip planner, halal guides, and travel tools completely free for you to use.
